DAY NINE - HOME AGAIN
FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 1997
We fly home today at 2:30 pm. So we get up to pack and say goodbye to a great holiday (bee sting, accident, and all). We decided to eat breakfast at the great buffet at the Courtyard restaurant. Then it was upstairs to pack. It takes awhile to pull everything together after eight nights in this room. We decide to spend the rest of the morning spending any extra money that we brought with us. You know you cant take money home from WDW. Bob and Debbie was sleeping in that morning, so we took the rental car down to Disney Village Marketplace. We spent at least two hours shopping and it was fun. Presents for friends and families. I bought Christi and I new Mickey watches as our final presents to ourselves. Amanda bought clothes for herself and presents for her parents and grandmother. By the time, we finished, we had four large shopping bags. And that was in addition to our original luggage and the other things we had bought this week. I had also managed to buy quite a lot of things each day at the F.O.P. conference in the vending area. I dont think the airlines is going to be pleased to see us.
Bob and Debbie took us to the airport in the rental car. They are going to be staying in Orlando for another five days. But my two girls have to start school on Monday morning. This is the beginning of their sophomore year and both girls are excited about getting back to school (in Odessa: high school is only Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years).
An uneventful flight home, no running through airports this time, and we were finally home. I know that Amanda was happy to see her mother and father. It was the longest she had ever been gone from them.
